Best win ever for Banbridge Ladies

In the NIWBA Championships, all three Banbridge pairs, Mary Martin, Mena Finnegan and Agnes Donald, all had byes into the second round, as did Cassie McDermott in the Triples.
In the Fours in the first round, Margaret Campbell was beaten by Joyce Lithgow (Antrim Lawn) and Lee Frost was beaten by Vera McCourt (Lisnagarvey), while in the Triples, Margaret Campbell was narrowly defeated by Maureen Fearon (Dungannon).
On Monday May 17 Banbridge played Whitehead at Banbridge and after a fiercely contested match managed to gain only one league point. Rink results were:

On the following day the three Banbridge pairs in the second round of the NIWBA Championships all played at Banbridge. All matches were close and resulted in a win for Mary Martin, who beat M Moore (Antrim Lawn 14-13).
Agnes Donald also recorded a win over M Holmes (Lisnagarvey 18-10) but J Bell (Donaghadee) proved too strong for Mena Finnegan, beating her 20-15. Well played, all!
Thursday May 20 saw Banbridge travelling to Musgrave Park to play Wingrave in the League. Banbridge came home from this match with 5.5 points. Rink results:
