Better distribution needed says Randal

INDEPENDENT councillor Randal McDonnell (pictured)said a better way of distributing the Moyle Council-produced information booklet'Moyle Matters' is needed.

He said ‘Moyle Matters’ is left on people’s bins but he said sometimes residents don’t put out bins and he said the he only received a recent edition when he retrieved it from a river.

He said ‘Moyle Matters’ should be delivered to all homes if there is a bin out or not.

Cllr McDonnell said: “Not everybody puts out a bin every week. You can’t anticipate what week Moyle Matters is coming out so lets get a bin out”.

Cllr McDonnell said people in the Glens receive information from adjoining councils in Larne and Ballymena but yet he said he does not receive ‘Moyle Matters’.

Moyle Council Chairperson, Independent councillor Price McConaghy, said holiday homes do not receive ‘Moyle Matters’ because for large parts of the year bins are not left out.

Sinn Fein councillor Oliver McMullan felt the way ‘Moyle Matters’ is distributed by putting them on bins works well and he said it helps to get the recycling message out.

He said the Council should be proud of their scheme and said other larger councils are looking at similar distribution schemes.
