Bettors' surge on Brexit seesodds slashed

The bookies have slashed the odds on Brexit to 2/1 and lower saying the amount of bettors taking the '˜leave' side suggests 'it looks likely that a lot of people have made up their mind on what way they will be voting'.

BoyleSports has reported further support for the UK to vote to leave the European Union on June 23.

Following further support, the UK to leave the EU is now 2/1 from 3/1 with the odds on staying eased yet again to 2/5 from 2/7.

BoyleSports also has a market on how many of the voters will vote yes with 50.01% to 55% currently heading the betting at 13/8. For 65% or more to vote yes it’s currently 25/1.

Liam Glynn, BoyleSports’ spokesperson said: “Judging by the demand for the UK to leave the EU over the past 24 hours, it now looks likely that a lot of people have made up their mind on what way they will be voting.

“With just 12 days to go it’s all about the UK leaving the EU and with our traders reporting no sign of the interest drying up at 2/1, they may well have to clip the odds further sooner rather than later.”

Rival PaddyPower has also slashed the odds on ‘leave’ to 7/4, in from 10/3 a few weeks ago. PaddyPower has also eased the odds on ‘remain’ from 1/5 to 1/2.
