Bi-lingual signs for '˜Tulach Óg' Fort near Cookstown as visitor area nears completion

“Following representations from the Ancient Clan O’Neill group I contacted the Minister of the Environment seeking clarification of the signage at the new site access area at Tulach Óg,” said Mr McGlone.

“I am pleased to welcome the decision by the Minister to instruct his officials to ensure that the name Tulach Óg is included in a prominent position on the signage at the entrance of the newly completed site access area. This will be installed once the present phase of works has been completed.

“It is right that the rich cultural history of Tulach Óg is accurately reflected in the signage at the entrance to the site, and I thank the Minister for his prompt response on this issue.”

Construction work to deliver enhanced visitor access to the archaeological site and interpretation area, is expected to be completed within the next few months.
