'Biased opinion of the paper'

FROM:- That Guy (via e-mail).

I'm writing to express my disgust at the article regarding so-called "boy racers" in lurgan.

Despite the fact that the whole article is completely disjointed and poorly worded, the so called facts are merely biased oppinion on the part of the Lurgan Mail.

If there has been no complaints about such activity, how can the ‘MAIL’ be so self assured that they are copying a "cornering movie" called Tokyo Drift. The paper’s blatent ignorance to the subject is agrovating, and surely this should not have been allowed through editing.

The manouvers in question are called "high speed", this is definitely not the case as the issue is diffing, which is a relatively slow speed activity ( <20mph)

I also strongly disagree with the careless nature the paper uses the statement "boy-racers". I recently attended a drifting event on private land in which both male and female drivers had entered. I therefor believe that this obvious sexism is unjustified, unfair and uncalled for.

I find this whole report extremely agrovating and patronising, and it is not the sort of publication i would expect from a journal of this kind. I'm very disappointed.

Editor's note: Since the author chose to attack the writing style of our article I've reproduced their piece exactly as written, so spelling and grammatical errors are all theirs (with only minor changes for legal reasons).

In terms of our assertion the moves were copied from a movie I would point out the original YouTube post was titled 'Fast and furious Lurgan drift' - awfully like the movie title 'Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift'.

As for our use of the term 'boy racers', all of the voices heard on the video were male. Stupidity of this level, of course, can be found in both genders but young male drivers are far more likely to have accidents on our roads, a fact illustrated by their high insurance rates.
