Big boost for Willie's orphans

WILLIE'S Orphan Fund got a big boost on Friday night, thanks to the kind-hearted people of Coleraine and Portrush.

There was a massive turn out at Coleraine Round Table’s Summer barbecue at the Lush complex in Kelly’s, Portrush.

Willie’s Orphan Fund was one of the main beneficiaries of the evening benefiting from a charity draw and donations that saw more than 1,000 being realised.

On the same evening there was a trip down memory lane at the Retro in Portrush with a one-off performance by the XDreamists in the Spuds re-union night.

The capacity crowd enjoyed listening to the classic sounds of the 70s and supported Willies Orphan Fund at the same time.

Charity whirlwind Willie Gregg was ecstatic with the fundraising: “On behalf of all the orphans in Thailand I especially want to thank Coleraine Round Table for supporting the work of the charity and a massive thank you to everybody who gave so freely at Kellys and the Retro on Friday night.

“Every penny will go to support the children and their education and will make a massive difference to their lives. Thank you one and all.”
