A five-year-old from Carrickfergus is embracing a new style after having her hair cut for a children's charity.

Phoebe Cullen, a pupil at Acorn Integrated Primary, had 32cm trimmed off her lovely locks last week in town centre salon, Tru Colours.

The hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair during cancer treatment.

The local pupil was motivated to support the Trust after hearing about their work through her mum, Sami.

Further inspiration came from Carrick teen Lana Douglas, who currently writes a blog about her own cancer journey.

Phoebe’s fundraising efforts have helped generate over £400 and counting for the Little Princess Trust, with the cost of Phoebe’s haircut also kindly donated by Jamie at Tru Colours.

“We are so thankful for all those that have supported this wee fundraiser,” said Sami.
