Big Lottery winfall for three local groups

Community groups in the Coleraine area have been awarded funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All programme.

Friends of Madelayne Court is one of three groups in the Coleraine area awarded a total of £23,048 from Awards for All.

Friends of Madelayne Court in Portstewart has been awarded £9,960 towards recreational activities for the residents of the care home mentally and emotionally engaged.

The Glenullin & Agivey Conservation & Development Group also received £9,532 to refurbish the group’s computer room and for other improvements at the premises so it can be more widely used by the local community.

Loughanreagh Sports and Recreational Club near Coleraine also received £3,556 to improve facilities and boost its use by local people, especially during the winter months.

Joanne McDowell, Big Lottery Fund NI Director, said: “The Big Lottery Fund’s NI Awards for All programme funds health, education, environment and community projects that help people bring about positive change in their lives, improve health and well-being, develop skills and create safer communities.

“The application process is simple and accessible and shall remain so, making it easy for applicants to successfully apply for small pots of funding that can have such a big impact on local communities and lives.”
