A second runway at Gatwick is among the options shortlisted by the Airports Commission for the UK’s next runway.

The current Gatwick Chair said: “I’m pleased to be back in Belfast and to be able to outline why Gatwick’s expansion plans offer greater benefits and stronger links to Northern Ireland.

“Gatwick is already the best-connected London airport for Northern Ireland, links that would only strengthen with expansion.

“There is a pressing need for another runway in the South East of England and I will be discussing with local leaders how this expansion can best be planned to maximise air connectivity for nations and regions throughout the UK.”
