Biggest New Horizon festival yet

This year’s New Horizon will be held at the University of Ulster, Coleraine, from August 2-8.

Once again the Christian festival will include a host of events such as morning Bible readings, seminars, evening celebrations, children’s work (undertaken by Scripture Union), celebrations for those with learning disabilities, separate programmes for youth and senior teens, and end-of-day informal activities on and off site.

Among the guest speakers will be Vaughan Roberts, who studied law at Cambridge University before a brief spell in South Africa where he was involved in student ministry. He subsequently trained for Anglican ministry at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford, and since 1991 he has been on the staff of St. Ebbe’s Church, Oxford, where he is now Rector.

Also taking part in the evening celebrations will be Rachel Gardner, founder of the Romance Academy, a national youth charity that supports youth leaders and parents in talking with teens about healthy relationships. Bestselling author of a number of books, London-based Rachel is known for her passion to help young people develop a healthy and godly attitude to their relationships and sexual health.

The third main speaker will be Malcolm Duncan, the leader of Gold Hill Baptist Church and also the Founder and Director of Church and Community.

Malcolm Chairs Spring Harvest and is the author of a number of books including “Risk Takers: The Life God intends for you” and “Unbelievable - confident faith in a sceptical world”.

NH Explore will be part of the 2014 programme which will explore specific issues in depth through a range of approaches including seminars, workshops, discussion groups, panels, presentations and talks. New Horizon Extra will be held after the Evening Celebration including events in the Diamond, late night seminars and Hope Street. The programme is:
