Bike Safe event to be held in Ballymoney store

There’s no doubt that Ballymoney is one bike mad town but now there’s an event in store which aims to “Keep the Race in its Place” and keep motorcyclists safe on the road.

Five organisations have teamed up to hold an extraordinary Bike Safe event at Millsport Motorcycles on Saturday, April 5th.

The PSNI, Ballymoney PCSP, Ballymoney Borough Road Safety Committee, Ducati and Bike Safe are coming together for the event which will begin at 10am at the Seymour Street premises in Ballymoney.

The vulnerability of motorcyclists on our roads has been a concern to Ballymoney Road Safety Committee for some time,” a spokesperson told the Times.

“We are delighted to enter a new and exciting partnership to run a very attractive bike safe event on Saturday, April 5th.

“Working in partnership with the PSNI and Millsport Motorcycles, we will be running an extraordinary bike safe event where entrants will take a free assessed ride-out with an Advanced Police Motorcyclist.

Sponsorship for the event will be provided by the Road Safety Committee, Millsport Motorcycles, PSNI and Ballymoney Police and Community Safety Partnership.

Prizes for the event will include motorcycle leathers, £100 gift vouchers, Pirelli tyres, use of a Ducati for a day, helmet and clothing and a 20% Millsport discount voucher for all participamts valid for one year (discount voucher excludes bikes and sale items).

In conjunction with the event, Ballymoney Road Safety Committee is planning to hold an exhibition for all motorcyclists in the area.

The event commences at 10am and an invitation is extended to come along on the day and see what is going on.
