Bikers cast off their leathers for charity

MORE renowned for sporting their leathers, a group of Ballymoney bikers have stripped off for a ‘cheeky’ calendar with all proceeds going to charity.

The 2012 calendar has been put together by Aces and Eights Motor Cycle Club and is already proving a hit around town.

Each month shows club members in a different pose with their bikes.

The calendar was the brainchild of Aces and Eights’ Corinna Armstrong - who appears in the October picture.

Club mate Lucy Laverty (snapped for May and August) said everyone was more than willing to take part for good causes.

“We have sold about 50 so far but the big push starts now and we’ve just had 500 copies printed,” she told the Times.

“Corinna came up with the idea and sounded us out about it.

“As a club we raise money for good causes through rallies and rock nights so this is something different.

“The response from those who have seen it has been brilliant so far.

“Local businesses supported us and they will be stocking the calendar for sale.”

The snaps were taken by photographer Chris Roberts and the following local businesses have chipped in to back the novel venture:

Motoplus, Inkwell Tattoos, Can-Can Recycling, Charlies Butchers, The Sizzlin Sausage, Spanboard Products Ltd, Millsport, Manor Hotel, Imperial Bar, The Northern Star, Ma Kellys and Tony Osbourne Family Butchers.
