Bikers rally together in Glynn for happy couple

The Glynn club, which had hosted the rally previously, was also the location for the marriage of Brett Allan, known as “Hobo” to his friends,and Ann-Marie Kinney.

Both are from the Glens and are members of the Lone Wolves Brotherhood bikers’ club which was meeting for an end of season rally in Glynn.

The happy couple were joined by family, friends and members from approximately 20 clubs who travelled from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, one making the journey from Cork, to see Brett and Ann-Marie tie the knot.

The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Gary Millar, from Greenisland, who is pastor to the Irish Chapter of the Tribe of Judah, a motorcycle ministry, and minister of Whitehead and Islandmagee Methodist churches.

“Hobo”, who wore the club waistcoat and jeans for the ceremony, and his bride were also joined by 17 members of the Lone Wolves Brotherhood for their big day making the trip to Glynn from north and east Antrim and North Down.

Sammy Wilson, a member of the Lone Wolves Brotherhood, said: “We wanted to bring them in on the back of a trike but they were having none of it as they were feeling quite nervous.”

Despite “biker” style wedding attire, and leather-clad guests, there was one familiar aspect to the nuptials, with the couple chosing traditional vows.

After the ceremony, the guests partied in a marquee to the sounds of three bands, including Larne line-up “Odibal”.

The event also provided an opportunity for fundraising, with three charities - PIPs; Northern Ireland Eating Disorders and Action Cancer set to benefit.

Recently, Sammy was one of three Lone Wolves members who completed an 873-mile trip around Ireland, from Larne, taking in Cork, Limerick and Donegal in aid of the Action Cancer charity.

Members were invited to guess the exact distance travelled during the four-day trip.

The Tribe of Judah Motorcycle Ministries was founded in 1980 by Ben Priest, whose motorbike “became his pulpit”.

It is a worldwide evangelical Christian outreach organisation.

Ben’s ministry has taken him not only to bikers but to people from all walks of life.

Members ride Harley Davidson motorcyles and wear a distinctive yellow back patch.
