It was approved by planners and passed by councillors at the recent monthly meeting of council.

There was one objection to the plan lodged by Shane McCorry Architects on behalf of Centrepoint Leisure Service.

They said: “We have been instructed by our clients Centrepoint Leisure Service to lodge a formal objection to the above, as they operate a bingo hall and feel there is no valid reason for a bingo hall to be granted in this location in this location given concerns in relation to access and road safety.”

A consultation study by Transport NI in August of this year found there to be no issues of concern.
