Bird talk at Mossley WI

DEPUTY President Ann Graham welcomed all to the May meeting of Mossley Women's Institute.

The speaker was Eleanor Brennan from the RSPB who gave a most interesting talk and visual presentation about garden birds in Northern Ireland. She told of the RSPB’s work and its history, and held a draw, with Liz Carville winning a 'soft toy bird'.

Betty Whiteside thanked Eleanor on behalf of the members.

The competition 'A Bird' was won by Lilian Smyth, with Greta Crawford coming second. Liz Carville won the monthly ballot.

Members congratulated Deputy President Ann Graham on winning the McBride Cup at the Knockagh Area Spring Meeting for her homemade handbag.

Next month’s meeting will be Members Night, with a Bring and Buy Sale.
