Bird thieves to blame
The culprit in the recent story about a grave robber at St Colman’s appears to have been found.
It had initially been thought the shiny black stones were being stolen from graves by people to sell on for profit, but it has emerged the thief may come from the animal kingdom.
The ‘MAIL’ has been contacted by several people suggesting crows and jackdaws are taking the stones and another man called us to say he’d watched crows take the stones from a grave.
