Birdwatching for beginners

If you can’t tell a moorhen from a mallard then RSPB Northern Ireland has just the event for you.

On Saturday, 14 November the charity will host a ‘Birdwatching for Beginners’ session at its Portmore Lough nature reserve outside Aghalee.

Warden Laura Smith will take visitors on a tour of this haven for nature, pointing out the birds and wildlife which make their homes here and giving top tips on how to identify them.

The event will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm and binoculars will be provided.

Admission will be £5 for adults/£4 for RSPB members and £2.50/£2 for children aged 5 to 17. Under 5s go free.
