Birthday party for gentleman Jim

WEDNESDAY, November 28 was a very special day for Jim and Nan Bradley of Millbank Avenue, Portstewart.

To celebrate Jim’s 90th birthday, the members of Portstewart Methodist Church organised a birthday party attended by family members and friends.

Jim and Nan met in Dromore, Co Down in 1944. He was posted there by the Northern Bank and met the attractive young organist in the Methodist Church.

A six year engagement was followed by their marriage in 1950 and their five children: Fred (deceased), Elizabeth, John, Trevor and Richard.

Jim served in Hillsborough, Shaftesbury Square, Antrim Road, Armagh and finally in Armoy, from where he retired in 1986. The couple moved to Portstewart and joined the local Methodist Church. Nan served as organist with great fidelity and distinction for many years, only finally bowing out in 2011.

Their son Richard is an active member of the congregation and its representative on the Circuit Executive.
