Birthday Picnic Party at Portstewart Strand

THIS year marks the 30th anniversary of the National Trust taking over ownership of Portstewart Strand and what a better way to celebrate this than a fun filled family picnic day down at the beach on Wednesday, August 24.

There will be plenty to keep all the family entertained with activities like pony trekking along the shoreline and blow karting in the wind to hula hoping and arts and crafts stalls.

You can also take part in a guided walk along the shore and through the dunes with one of our experienced team member. We will highlight some of the important species and work which we are doing to help protect the dune system.

The picnic party starts at 12pm and there will be a number of different stalls for food and crafts available. The activities will run all day and we will have some different competitions such as sand castle building. The party will end at 5pm.

A National Trust spokesperson said: “We look forward to seeing you all there to help us celebrate a wonderful 30 years down at The Strand.”
