Black Evangelical Fellowship meeting

THE members of the Loughbrickland Black Evangelical Fellowship will hold the next meeting in their winter programme on Tuesday March 9, in Derrydrummuck Orange Hall off the Loughbrickland to Rathfriland Road.

Their special guests on this occasion will be Mr Timothy Mayes and Mr. Brian Truesdale, who are both members of the Royal Black Institution in Gilford.

Their topic will be based around their own walk with the Lord, and the spread of false religion in the world. Timothy and Brian will also be joined by Mr Henry Dunbar, who is the Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland.

Mr Dunbar will address the meeting on the Reformation in Scotland. The Rev. Arthur Young will also be in attendance. The Rev. Young is a great friend of the fellowship and has been a special guest at previous meetings.

The Fellowship is organized by members of the Black Institution which is firmly founded on the Holy Word with Christian values, and with Christian aims.

All members of the Institution are guided to be true and faithful to the Order at all times; to spread the Gospel of his Christian Knighthood; to uphold the honour, and virtue, of every Sir Knight; to assist those who are less fortunate than himself; to support his Preceptory and elected Officers; to live up to the high principles of the Order; and to be faithful to God, Church, Queen and Commonwealth.

The fellowship has the following aims and objectives - the promotion of the study of the Holy Scriptures in order to understand the Christian Faith and to demonstrate it's relevance for today's society; the promotion of knowledge of the Reformed Faith in order to extend it's influence and development throughout the world; the engagement in Christian and charitable outreach in order to demonstrate their personal faith in Jesus Christ, their commitment to regular Christian Worship and all aspects of charitable living; and the continuation and further development of social and responsible citizenship, in order to maintain, and enhance greater and higher standards of Justice, Truth, Honesty and Integrity in both private and public life.

Why not come along and hear these two brothers and enjoy a night of friendship, fellowship and spiritual enhancement.
