Blackwater raise moneyin memory of wee Amelia

The Blackwater Bar in Ballymoney recently held a fundraising night to raise money for the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, raising over £800.

The money was raised in memory of Portrush youngster, Amelia Christie Currie, who passed away sadly a year ago.

The Blackwater bar decided to raise memory for Amelia’s tribute fund, and raised over £800 by holding a raffle and an evening of entertainment.

Amelia’s mum, Michelle Christie, said: “The owners are good friends of my dad’s and they offered to do this to help raise money for Amelia’s tribute fund and the NI Children’s Hospice.

“There was a great turn out and great support from the community on the night, for such a fabulous cause that is very close to my heart.”

Matthew Allen, Fundraiser for Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice said: “I want to thank all those who helped raise this fantastic amount, as well as stephen and Sharon for holding the night.

“The £800 raised will go a long way to help life limited children and their families across Northern Ireland just like the care Amelia received. It is great to see the community get together to support the Children’s Hospice.”

During her short life little Amelia battled with cerebral palsy, had a neuropathic bladder, was mildly deaf in her left ear and could not interpret what she saw.
