Blazing tractor fire consumed two further vehicles on Coalisland street

Firefighters had to put out fires in three vehicles after a tractor was set alight ‘deliberately’ on a Coalisland street yesterday morning.

The incident, which took place in the Mourne Avenue area of the town just before 11.30am on Sunday, has now been passed to police.

A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service received a call at 11.27am to a report of a tractor on fire at the Mourne Avenue area of Coalisland on Sunday 27th September.

“One Fire Appliance from Dungannon Fire Station was deployed to the scene of a tractor on fire in the area. Firefighters also had to deal with two other vehicles on fire in the area.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 12.15pm and is being treated as a deliberate fire. The incident has been passed through to the Police Service of Northern Ireland.”
