BLF Nurse programme

The British Lung Foundation Northern Ireland (BLF NI) welcomed, in partnership with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, nine Trust nurses to their BLF Nurse Programme last week.

The team will provide uniquely customised and innovative care for patients with severe respiratory disease.

The team of nine nurses are the newest to join the BLF Nurse Programme in Northern Ireland thanks to funds raised by the BLF NI support group Breathe Easy Causeway and Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland.

Guest speakers included the Minister for Health, Mr Edwin Poots, Dr Penny Woods, Chief Executive of the BLF and, Dr Jenny Gingles consultant in Public Health Agency. Nessie Blair, Services Development Manager, said: “We are pleased to welcome the team of nurses to the BLF Nurse Programme in Northern Ireland, thanks to funding from the support group Breathe Easy Causeway and Lloyds TSB Foundation for Northern Ireland. The BLF nurses will make a difference to the lives of those living with a lung condition, and their families, by providing improved access to support and care so that they can better manage their conditions”.
