Bloody Sunday campaigners congratulated
SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has congratulated the Bloody Sunday campaigners on winning the People of the Year Award 2010 at an RTÉ awards ceremony in the Citywest Hotel, Dublin.
Mr Durkan, who attended the ceremony, said: "June 15 didn't just matter to the people of Derry but throughout Ireland and beyond.
"The families and relatives are getting this year's award but it should be remembered there has been a 38 year struggle to exonerate their loved ones and have the truth proclaimed.
"This award shows that their efforts, dignity and determination has provided inspiration to many people throughout Ireland and internationally."
