Bloomin’ marvellous cause

BLOOMS Florists, Victoria Street, Ballymoney has a luxurious Easter basket for one lucky winner containing a large Easter egg, chocolate lollipops, chocolate eggs and a plush teddy bear.

Entrants must pick one of the 100 squares on a grid to enter, proceeds of which go to Macmillan Cancer Support. This represents the 100 years that the charity has been established and costs £1 to enter.

Siobhan Lyttle of Blooms explained: ”The idea of an Easter basket to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support came from my husband. He does a lot of work for the charity and asked me to put a hamper in the shop to promote them.”

Siobhan added: ”Four members of Blooms Florists’ staff, including myself, are participating in the Race for Life 5K in Coleraine on 2th June. Many families are affected by cancer and I think it’s a brilliant opportunity to to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I am determined to run the entire race and have been training hard.
