Bloom's day

LUKA Bloom is on tour following the release of on impressive twelve albums, and he's not tired yet!

The celebrated singer-songwriter is returning to the Playhouse on March 6.

An electrifying live performer, Luka's soulful music and accomplished lyrics are rooted in the folk tradition but call on a wide range of influences. Like many Irish families, Luka comes from a family of singers, first going on tour with his older brother Christy Moore and subsequently with the Pogues, The Violent Femmes, Hothouse Flowers and The Cowboy Junkies.

His Twelfth album 'Eleven Songs, has been warmly welcomed by reviewers and critics alike, with even the New York Times pausing to praise the Irishman's "tremendous artistry".

"This is another chance for Luka to widen his already very large fan base in the maiden city" Pauline Ross of the Playhouse said.

"Fans can be guaranteed an impassioned live performance of original, poetic and melodic songs in the setting of our fantastic new building. Definitely not to be missed!"
