BMW driver left scene after knocking girl down

A TWENTY-ONE-YEAR old woman was hospitalised on Thursday, March 29, after a woman driving a BMW knocked her down in Londonderry’s Waterside.

Police in Londonderry are appealing for information regarding the hit-and-run incident that occurred in the Crescent link area of the Waterside.

At approximately 1.45pm, on Thursday 29 the young woman was crossing the road near the roundabout in the Crescent Link Retail Park when she was hit by a Black BMW, Series 3 car.

The pedestrian was hit as she left the road and was treated in hospital for injuries.

Another motorist who was travelling behind stopped to help the injured girl and police are keen to speak to this driver.

The driver of the black BMW is described as female with dark hair and was wearing sunglasses. Police are asking this driver to come forward or if anyone has information to contact police at Strand Road station on 0845 600 8000 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
