Joining, the likes of Serephena, Sarah-Janes, and The Queen Bee, the new Spoilt Belle Boutique which opened last October, has been creating a major stir.

Local woman Rachel Shivers, opened Spoilt Belle Boutique in October 2013 and has been gathering an increasing number of followers online through her Facebook page and website.

Rachel had not planned to launch her website until 2015 but the huge reaction on Facebook gave her encouragement to begin her website.

Based in Magherafelt, Rachel speaks about how she saw a gap in the market for a new boutique and “just went for it”.

From her buying experience of working for designer Gabriella Frattini in Australia, Rachel came equipped with the knowledge of buying and knew which labels she wanted to sell, including Hybrid and Lavish Alice.

Spoilt Belle Boutique will also feature in one of the UK’s leading fashion magazines, Look in their ‘My Style File’ section.

Similarly, Jenna Hamilton from Ballyclare has launched her own independent boutique ‘Daisy & Duke’ in Market Street.

Jenna was searching for over a year for a space to locate her shop, when she finally decided on Magherafelt. She saw Magherafelt as a busy town with much potential for affordable fashion for both men and women.

Originally, the store was to begin with women’s fashion only but with the gap for men’s fashion in Magherafelt, Jenna decided to “go the whole hog” and do men’s clothes too.

Jenna’s experience at G-Star and Tiger Lily with buying clothes and management is paying off she’s achieved her dream in owning her own business.
