Board vote to axe Ballee High
Ballee Community High School has been recommended for closure in August 2014.
Officers from the North Eastern Education and Library Board will now consult further with all four Controlled Schools in Ballymena and District on the shape of future provision for the pupils of the area.
A Board spokesman said: “It is with regret that the Board has recommended the closure of Ballee Community High School. We believe that further discussions with all for four current Controlled Post Primary Schools is necessary as we move towards a re-configuration of provision to ensure that the needs and aspirations of all our young people are met into the future.
“The Board intends to progress further discussions with all concerned for future provision as soon as is practical”.
