Boardmills ladies learn to love stitching
President of Boardmills WI Agnes Black welcomed members and guest speaker Lynne McCauley of ‘Love Stitching’ to the November meeting.
Lynne gave an extremely interesting talk of how her hobby of patchwork developed into her setting up a shop, selling patchwork material as well as prepared squares to save lots of preparation time.
She had a large number of beautiful completed quilt on displayLynne holds patchwork classes in her shop with classes for complete beginners and for all ages.The competition for a dressed vegetable was won by Rae Gould, with June Kirkpatrick in second and Kathleen Russell in third.
The birthday girl was Daisy Fox.
