Boards to be set up to deal with Council projects

Project boards are to be set up to manage major investment projects in the Causeway Coast and Glens council.

Councillors at a last Tuesday night’s Leisure and Development Committee meeting agreed that 10-member project board should be set up to deal with major capital investment projects, including a proposed new sporting facility in Dungiven.

The boards are intended to develop each project.

They would then report back to Council for approval from elected representatives with their proposals.

DUP councillor Trevor Clarke agreed with the proposal, saying: “It is nothing but good business sense.”

Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens, councillor Michelle Knight-McQuillan also agreed, adding: “It is simply good business practice.”
