Bobby Jackson (in apron) after paint work

Last week the Sentinel featured a picture of an old Londonderry Corporation ‘gully-sucker’ with three men alongside in our nostalgia page.

Thanks to Albert Jackson, now of Drumahoe, who identifies his late father Bobby, originally of Clarence Place off Fountain Street, as the man in the white apron.

Bobby passed away (aged 84) back in 1985. Albert says his father worked for years as a fireman before moving on to work in the Strand Road paint shop for the Corporation. Thanks Albert!
