Body recovered from Lough Neagh in suspected murder search

Police investigating the suspected murder of a missing Co Antrim woman have found a body.

The body was recovered from the shore of Lough Neagh at Lough Road this afternoon - a formal identification process has yet to take place.

Two men have been arrested by officers investigating the disappearance of 61-year-old Pauline Carmichael.

Prior to the discovery of the body, Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson, from the PSNI’s serious crime branch, said murder was suspected.

He said: “Information provided to us leads me to believe Pauline has been murdered.”

Ms Carmichael has been missing from her home in Hillside in Antrim from around 10pm on Monday.

The two men in custody are aged 37 and 59.
