Body recovered from River Foyle

THE body of a 50-year-old man has been recovered from the River Foyle.

Foyle Search and Rescue emergency response team were contacted by the PSNI at 15.30 on Tuesday, October 12, after reports of a body floating in the river.

A spokesperson for the river rescue service said: "Foyle Search and Rescue were quickly on the scene were the body of a 50-year-old male was recovered from the water and taken to their base at Prehen where the crews administered First Aid.

"The male was removed to Altnagelvin hospital by the PSNI and NI Ambulance Service. A total of nine bodies have been recovered by Foyle Search and Rescue this year."
