Bogus policemen target woman in her 80's

A WOMAN in her 80s was left unhurt but shocked after three men claiming to be police locked her in her bedroom and ransacked her house last Wednesday night

The trio forced their way into the house in the Dalboyne Gardens area of Lisburn at about 9.45 pm.

When they got the woman into the room they put a vacuum cleaner up against the door to prevent her getting out.

They asked for the keys of a car which was parked outside which belonged to her son who lives nearby.

The men are believed to have forced entry through a side window and removed the frame.

Once inside the house they claimed they were police from London looking for drugs and shut the woman in her bedroom as they stole cash and some house keys.

The men were described as having Northern Ireland accents, being in their 20s or early 30s, tall and thin and wore dark clothing.

The police later made made house to house enquiries. One man said he had seen a suspcious looking black Megane with theree men on board in the area soon after the incident.
