Bomb Alert: Residents evacuated at Brigade

Police are currently in attendance at a security alert on the Brigade Road, Londonderry, following the find of a suspicious object in the area.

Inspector Jonathan Hunter said: “The Brigade Road is closed between the Rossdowney Road roundabout and McGarvey Court.

“A number of houses have been evacuated and the Lincoln Court Community Centre has been made available for any residents that need shelter.”

Displaced residents in the area are being made welcome at Clooney Community Centre until the alert is over.

Brigade roundabout is closed and motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
