Boomer supplies UK’s leading defence rehabilitation centre

BOOMER Industries has announced the completion of its latest defence contract.

The innovative Lisburn-based plastics extruder supplied the MOD’s Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Headley Court with advanced, rapid construction pre-hung door sets delivered with enhanced medical compliance.

“Supplying ‘The Headley Court Patient and Clinical Accommodation Project’ has been an especially rewarding partnership for Boomer Industries,” said John Irwin, Sales & Marketing Director for Boomer Industries. “Since 2006 a host of residential wards and treatment buildings have been erected and fitted with Boomers products in conjunction with a UK client, we have just completed the fit-out, and we are delighted with the visible quality at the rehabilitation centre.”

For most combat casualties, Headley Court is the final stage of the recovery process. Comprising 360 military and civilian staff, its facilities are set in 85 acres of landscaped gardens, near Epsom. The centre includes a hydrotherapy pool, swimming pool, four fully equipped gyms and a state-of-the-art limb-fitting and amputee centre. “This has been a very successful project for Boomer,” said Mr Irwin. “We’re delighted it has allowed our product innovation to be applied in a facility with such noble objectives. Not only is Boomer focused on client satisfaction, but we are persistent with our green credentials. Boomer’s door operation has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council’s (FSC) trademark assurance and accreditation, which is part of Boomer’s advanced ‘Green Ethics’ programme, designed to market the firm’s ethical supplier, and eco-friendly credentials.”
