Boost for childcare provision as new after school club opens in Brocagh

Childcare provision in the wider Brocagh area has been given a major boost thanks to the opening of a new after school club.

The new service has been warmly welcomed by local families as well as the Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Linda Dillon, who cut the ribbon to officially open the premises at Castlebay Centre.

Speaking after the official opening event, Cllr Dillon paid tribute to those involved in getting the project off the ground.

“It was a real honour to open the after schools facility in Brocagh.

“Well done to the committee, management and staff.

“This is a great resource for a rural community all they need now is for the community to come and use it.”

A representative of Brocagh After School Club, writing on the organisation’s Facebook page, said: “We had a number of happy children today who explored the setting, bonded with new friends and staff.

“The children really enjoyed outdoor play today, football galore.

“Messy play enjoyed by all today also. Our first day opened and we are very happy with how it went#‎positive‬ future ahead”
