Boost for listed places of worship
Environment Minister Mark H Durkan today welcomed the announcement of £1.2million support for 25 local historic churches through the UK wide roof repair fund including St Patrick’s Parish Church, Ballymoney (£28,300) and St James’s Church, Ballycastle (£85,800).
The Minister also welcomed an extra £40 million funding announced in last week’s Budget for the scheme and commented:“This is a tremendous extra boost for our listed places of worship. I am delighted that 25 have been successful.”
