He continued: “It is testament and recognition of Clann Eireann’s commitment to the young people of the area by all involved - management teams, leaders in charge, youth leaders and volunteers past and present.”

The club are hopeful the new facility for which a number of design options are being considered can be delivered by 2015 thus securing a youth and community provision and legacy of community service for the next 60 years and more.

Youth Club Chair Dee said: “We are pleased the Department of Education led by Minister O’Dowd has seen fit to recognise the need for this development and charged us with the continued delivery of services to young people from the area.”
