The protest groups are critical of the Health Minister’s stance on various issues, including gay adoption, abortion and the ban on blood donation by homosexuals, and are calling on him to resign his Ministerial position.

A spokesperson for the campaign said: “We feel it has become clear that the Minister can no longer impartially represent people who do not share his world view. Over the last number of weeks and months Health Minister Poots has outraged numerous sections of our society.

“These issues represent an attack on women, the elderly, the young, the gay community, trade unionists and the poor.

“If you care about equality, fairness and want to live in a secular pluralist society then please come along and support this protest. We deserve a health minister who will deliver for the whole of our society without prejudice.”
