Civic buildings across the borough including The Braid are being illuminated in special colours on two occasions - on Monday, March 21, for Global Awareness Day for Down syndrome and on Saturday, March 26, for the Global Day of Epilepsy Awareness.

Councillors recently agreed to light The Braid, Larne’s Smiley Buildings, and Carrickfergus Castle (courtesy of NIEA) in blue and yellow to represent Down syndrome as a way to raise awareness on Monday and purple on Saturday to raise awareness of epilepsy.
