Borough is the winner in Champions' League
CARRICKFERGUS has gained an excellent return from the council's sponsorship of the Women's Champions' League, a member believes.
The local authority contributed 400 towards the staging of a group stage of the UEFA-organised tournament in Northern Ireland during August, featuring sides from Duisburg, Glasgow, Bratislava and Newtownabbey.
Alderman David Hilditch told this week’s meeting of the Development Services committee that “hundreds” of bed nights were generated as all the travelling teams stayed in the Borough during their time in the province.
