Bow Street Mall trading ‘ahead of expectations’

BOW Street Mall in Lisburn is bucking the trend for bad news in the retail sector according to Michael Hopkins of McKibbin Commercial.

He said new financial results showed the Mall was ‘trading ahead of all expectations’ in contrast to the national picture that showed retail sales only having risen 0.6 per cent year on year.

“Against a backdrop of ever-higher retail vacancy rates, Bow Street Mall is a striking exception to the UK-wide trend. We’re fully let, with a great range of top quality retailers, and we’re committed to making Bow Street Mall one of the premier retail destinations in Northern Ireland” Mr Hopkins said.

The shops in the Mall employ a total of more than 500 people and nearly 750,000 square feet of retail space.

He was speaking after the recent opening of fashion retailer H&M in what Mr Hopkins described as one of the largest single-store retail lets to have taken place in recent years in Northern Ireland.

Jill Herbert-Browne, Assistant Manager of Bow Street Mall, said that H&M’s arrival would cement Bow Street Mall’s reputation as a top destination for retailers. Blue Inc, a men’s fashion retailer with well over 100 stores in the UK, is also opening in the Mall.
