Boy, 15, charged with knife-point robbery in Cookstown

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with robbery in relation to an alleged incident at Hilltop Service Station on Cookstown’s Chapel Street on Tuesday night.

The youngster was arrested by police on Wednesday afternoon and is due to appear before magistrates in Strabane on Thursday morning.

Police received a report that an amount of money was stolen from the shop after a female attendant said she was ordered to open the till by a young male wielding a knife.

After the incident he is understood to have fled on a BMX bike.
