Boy charged over teenager's death following alleged hit-and-run in Armagh

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving following the death of teenager Lesley-Ann McCarragher.

Lesley-Ann - a student at Loughry College in Cookstown - was airlifted to Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital after an alleged hit-and-run on the Monaghan Road, Milford just after noon, but she died in hospital.

It is understood the 19-year-old was walking on the roadside.

The boy has also been charged with failing to stop, and driving without a licence or insurance.
