Last Tuesday night, police received a report that drivers were performing handbrake turns in High Street. On the same night, another caller reported engines being revved up and burn ups, again causing a loud noise.

The following night, a caller from the village reported that numerous vehicles were driving along the Coast Road and along High Street revving their engines which also led to a high level of noise.

Police are also investigating reports that a white BMW car was performing burn-ups at Ballyvoy.

The final report was on Thursday night of last week when a caller reported that a car was performing donuts on the Glenshesk Road in Armoy just after 11 p.m.

Inspector Hume said one of the problems they faced was that by the time a patrol car was despatched to the area, the culprits were long gone.

He appealed to the public to help the PSNI catch those responsible.

“We want the public to keep calling us and hopefully we can set up an operation to identify and bring to book those causing the problems,” the Inspector added.

The number to call is 0845 600 8000 or Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.
