‘Boy racers are not immune from the law’: PSNI chief

The Causeway Coast and Glens Area Commander said that police were carrying out work with the Council in a bid to curb ‘nuisance motoring’ in the Ballymoney area.

“These young people diffing are a nuisance and this is an upset that no one should have to endure,” said Supt Magill. The Commander called on the public for help but said that there are were plans in place to deal with the problem. He revealed that the old factory site at Agivey was also an area of concern.

“We have been working with Council and elected representatives, but again we need the help of the public.

“There is no point in letting us know that young people have been gathering a day later, we need to know at the time.” He added that police had carried out a ‘very successful’ operation in conjunction with DoE in Ballycastle in relation to nuisance drivers and that a number of drivers had been before the courts as a result of the operation.
