Boyfriend of Ardboe woman whose death rocked community says he is ‘torn apart’

The partner of a young Ardboe woman who was buried on Sunday, has taken to Facebook to share his anguish at her loss.

Just 25, Jenna Coney, was said to have been discovered in bed early on Friday morning.

And although it is understood she suffered from epilepsy, the reason for her death remains unknown.

Her boyfriend, Damian Rocks, opened up about his pain at having lost her so soon online.

His heartfelt tribute went: I honestly don’t know where to begin my beautiful Jenna. I never thought I’d ever have to say goodbye to you so soon.

“I love you with all my heart... we have been torn apart.

“I miss you so much I am lost without you. Rest in peace my beautiful angel love always Damian.”

Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Ardboe on Sunday to say their goodbyes to the young woman, “taken too soon”.

She was then laid to rest at Old Cross Cemetery.

The death of the young Killygonland woman seems to have hit at the very core of the lough shore community, with scores of people still posting messages to Jenna on Facebook.

Following her passing, Ardboe Gallery paid tribute to the “beautiful girl” with “a heart of gold” who “never stopped smiling” no matter what life threw at her.

While her aunt Sadie said on Facebook: “My beautiful niece Jenna Coney r.i.p .. somewhere there is Life Eternal. .somewhere there is a home above. .There is no night without a dawning. Beyond this death is God and love..xx”

“So sad and such a shock to her family and partner, May God give them the strength to get through such a hard time they have to face,” said another tribute.

Local football teams, Ardboe O’Donovan Rossa and Moortown St Malachy’s GACs, both paid their respects to Jenna and her family in The Irish News.

The past pupil of Holy Trinity leaves behind her mother Marie and father Brendan, brothers Mark and Adam, sister Darina and partner Damian.

“God only takes the best” - was a message left by many mourning her loss.
