'Boys' climb for charity

THE evergreen Campsie Club of the Apprentice Boys of Derry have for decades dedicated considerable effort to fundraising for various charities.

On Saturday last the Campsie members surpassed themselves with a concerted assault on Donegal's highest mountain. Several hardy individuals, accompanied by friends and spouses, climbed to the summit of Errigal Mountain at Dunlewey in the Donegal Highlands, fortified by excellent conditions underfoot and graced with most temperate weather.

The Campsie stalwarts were joined in the steep, often perilous, climb by some gallant young ladies and good friends from Co Donegal. The actual ascent of Errigal proved less of a problem for some than the descent but all returned weary but safe in limb to the Memorial Hall in the early afternoon.

The appointed charity to benefit is the Little Orchids fund and an appropriate presentation will be made soon. Late contributions to this worthy cause can be made at the Memorial Hall.
